Weightless Fluke - #3 rigging hook ( White Pearl/Disco Violet) Carolina Rig - #3 rigging hook 1 oz weight and 5’ leader with I am using a 14 inch leader with a finesse worm (Tomato). Drop Shot - #1 rigging hook and a 5/16 oz weight. Some of these fish are coming off road beds while others are on main lake points. I may catch them off one spot in 12-15 feet and the next spot in 20-22 feet. There’s a lot of little shad that have started to move up in the grass. I am catching these fish on a Yellow Magic (bone), Limit Getter Spinner Bait, Underspins with a Skinny Dipper (white) and Weightless Fluke (dip tail or solid white). What has changed from my last report is I am starting to find some fish up shallow in the grass in the back of creeks. We’ll soon be catching fall giants here on Lake Fork. The numbers of fish we are catching have been good to great but the bigger bites have been a little tough which is common this time of year. As you can see from the above pictures, Lake Fork is especially beautiful this time of year.

If I was coming to Lake Fork and planned on fishing main lake, I would bring these two baits:Īs we get closer to March, I will be spending most of my time back in the creeks looking for the warmest water possible. It’s typical this time of year to be able to head to the backs of creeks and find a good number of fish after the water temperature warms up. It’s also typical this time of year for cold fronts and rain to come in and I find myself back out on the main lake. When the weather lets us get out on the water we’ve seen some good fish caught and during the very few warm stretches we’ve had this month the numbers have been very good also.Įarly in February we experienced a few warm days and had some incredible fishing. I am excited about this year as Lake Fork is setting up just right. I would like to thank everyone who has come out so far this season for a guide trip and hope you know how much I appreciate the opportunity to share what Lake Fork has to offer.
